Manager: Britney Too Busy for VMAs

With her personal and professional lives finally getting back on track, it had appeared likely in recent weeks that Britney Spears would attempt to make a image-reversing performance at September's MTV Video Music Awards. But regrettably, says her manager, that doesn't appear like it's going to happen.

"Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to do on this year's VMAs," says Larry Rudolph, Brit's handler, who was re-hired originally this year after months of erratic behavior by the pop star. "She's in the middle of recording her next record album, which is going astonishingly well, and her focus remains on the studio."

Last September, a disoriented and distracted Brit took the VMA stage in Las Vegas for an awkward lip-synched performance of her single, "Gimme More," and drew more often than not gasps and giggles from the consultation in reply.

One year later, a much-improved 26-year-old appeared to be opening the door to a VMA performance with a geminate of recorded promotional pieces for the awards establish with this year's host, British comedian Russell Brand.

However, it should be celebrated that, patch Rudolph says Britney won't be acting live during the Sept. 7 broadcast from L.A., he aforesaid nothing around her organism too officious to make a brief appearance either in person at the ceremony or on videotape. The singer's hit, "Piece of Me" is nominated for Video of the Year.

Should Britney indicate up to the VMAs?

Yes and she should whistle too!
No way! Stay place and take in on the TV.
She should at least seat in the audience.

Karaoke System Suppliers, SHINE Multimedia Co. Ltd and Thunderstone Technology Ltd, Investigated for Providing Pirated Songs

BEIJING, June 25 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The Karaoke Copyright Operation
Center of China Audio-Video Copyright Association (CAVCA) revealed that the
two companies, SHINE Multimedia Co. Ltd and Thunderstone Technology Ltd,
were investigated by copyright authorities on June 20th because they were
suspected of illegally copying and supplying pirated songs to Karaoke
operators.

In May of this year, the Yunnan Copyright Administration received
complaints against the Kunming offices of these two companies from China
Audio -Video Copyright Association, Music Copyright Society of China (MCSC)
and some other rights owners, who claim that the two companies produced and
sold VOD systems to Karaoke operators, copied and sold large numbers of
music works, including Love Me or Not. The music copied involves 10,000
songs. On June 20th, the Yunnan Copyright Administration investigated these
two VOD system suppliers and confiscated relevant equipment and materials.

The Vice Director General of the China Audio & Video Copyright
Association and Vice Director of the Karaoke Copyright Operation Center,
Mr. Lu Wenju, explained that 80% of the KTV operators use the VOD system to
provide vocal accompaniment for customers while the majority of the songs
from the VOD system are provided by the VOD system supplier. However, most
of those system suppliers have never obtained approval or authorization
from copyright owners when they made copies of those music & TV works
protected by Copyright Law. At present, most of the songs in the VOD
systems of 170,000 Karaoke Lounges are provided by the VOD system
suppliers. At a rate of 25,000 to 60,000 pirated songs owned by each KTV,
the total storage of pirated songs will be around 4.3 billion songs
throughout the country. The scale of infringement is alarming. According to
the initial estimation, the right owners lose around RMB2 billion from
infringement of copyrights. Those VOD system suppliers copied others' works
on a large scale for commercial use without the approval of rights owners.
They have committed the crime of infringing upon copyrights according to
article 217 of the Criminal Law and should bear criminal responsibilities.

At present, relevant departments including the China Audio-Video
Copyright Association have already launched the rights-protection campaign
against those pirate VOD producers. It is said that the two companies SHINE
Multimedia Co. Ltd and Thunderstone Technology Ltd. are both on the list of
Top Ten domestic VOD Producers and the latter has branches in more than ten
cities in China. The SHINE Multimedia Co. Ltd has more than 20 branches and
offices and more than 2,000 KTV users. The company has entered the American
capital market through wholly-owned subsidiary of K's Media.

Boy George denies false imprisonment charge

Singer Boy George has denied a charge that he falsely imprisoned a male escort.
The former Culture Club frontman, real name George O'Dowd, appeared in a London court yesterday where he was ordered to stand trial later this year.
He will fight the charge that he chained escort Audun Carlsen, 28, to a wall. The offence is alleged to have taken place at the star's Shoreditch home in East London last year.
A previous hearing was told the case centres on an "allegation of false imprisonment".
The 46-year-old, dressed all in black and wearing sunglasses, pleaded not guilty during the brief hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court, East London.
Boy George was then ordered to stand trial at the same court in November. It is expected to last five days. He left the court without making any comment.
Boy George, who remains on bail under the condition that he cannot contact the alleged victim, left Culture Club in the late 1990s, before briefly trying a solo career. He later became a club DJ.
In 2006 he was ordered to sweep the streets of Manhattan by a US court after charges stemming from an incident when police responded to his call reporting a burglary and found cocaine in his apartment.
